Tea Lights for Mood Lighting

1)Place tea lights in a path to lead a significant other to a romantic rendezvous. Setting the tea lights a few feet apart from each other on an outdoor path at night lights the path in the dark and emphasizes that the events planned are of a fun and exotic nature.

2)Set tea lights along a bath tub edge for a romantic or peaceful bath. Place the tea lights inside glass holders to keep the water from splashing on them. Stick with clear glass holders for a pristine and simple look; but for a romantic holiday such as Valentine's Day, try red cup-shaped holders for a hot, sassy feel. Remember to buy holders that the tea light can fit completely inside so that only the glow of the light is visible.

3)Bring out tea lights in multi-colored glass candle holders to place on an outdoor dinner table. Stained-glass holders offer a vintage look, especially ones with multiple panes. Try a regular clear glass holder with sea glass covering the bottom and the tea light on top for a classy mood, or in a snifter glass floating atop a thin strip of foam for a more elegant effect.

Tea Lights for Meditation

4)Unroll a blanket and place a pillow on the floor in an area of your home facing a blank wall. Place a few tea lights in front of you, light them, and then dim the lights. Sit on the pillow and meditate on the simplicity of the light and the wall in front of you. If you wish, set a mirror against the wall to reflect the light for more external, meaningful stimulation while you meditate.

5)Place tea lights in a significant shape for meditating within, such as a circle. Set the tea lights two feet apart from each other around the circumference of the circle. Sit or place an icon or votive offering inside the circle.

6)Place tea lights at the perimeter of a room that is used for yoga, meditation, or another quiet and intimate practice. Consider placing them in white paper bags to create a pale, diaphanous glow, or placing them on flat river rocks to play the flicker of the candle off the porous material and colors in the rock.
